Why We Built This
Most QR code generators on the market have a catch: they either expire your codes after a trial period, require registration, watermark your downloads, or push you toward expensive monthly subscriptions. We found this frustrating, so we built a generator that does none of those things.
How It Works
All QR code generation happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your data —whether it's a URL, WiFi password, or contact information —never leaves your device. This means:
- 100% private —no data is stored or transmitted
- Lightning fast —no server round trips
- Always available —no server downtime
- Completely free —no hosting costs for us means no fees for you
Static vs Dynamic QR Codes
We only generate static QR codes — the kind that encode your data directly into the pattern and work forever. They are the right choice for permanent surfaces like business cards, packaging, menus, and storefront signs.
Dynamic QR codes (offered by other services) use a short redirect URL hosted on a server. They let you edit the destination later and see how many people scanned — useful for marketing campaigns, A/B tests, and printed materials where reprinting is expensive. We don't offer dynamic codes because we believe static is the right default for most users, and a free, privacy-first experience is more valuable than monthly subscriptions.
